
Brigit Johnson
Biography
Brigit Johnson the Associate Director of bands at East View High School in Georgetown, Texas. After completing her student teaching at East View, Ms. Johnson served as the Assistant Director at Manor New Tech High School where she directed the Titan Regiment Marching Band, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band.
Originally from Santa Fe, NM, Ms. Johnson graduated from Texas Tech University where she received her bachelor degree in Music Education, and studied Euphonium with Dr. Kevin Wass. At Texas Tech, she performed with the Texas Tech Tuba/Euphonium ensemble, a Tuba/Euphonium quartet under the name of Matador Brass, and with all three of the concert ensembles as a principal chair. Ms. Johnson also performed with the Goin’ Band from Raiderland for all four years of college, serving as baritone section leader for one year, and then as a drum major for two years.
Ms. Johnson’s drum corps experience includes being a contracted member of the Crossmen for the 2020 season, as well as performing with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps on baritone and trombone for the 2023 season, where they were awarded the silver medal in the DCI World Championship Finals.
Outside of band, Ms. Johnson loves to hike, swing dance, draw, play video games, read, and write. If you catch her with headphones on, she’s probably listening to the Skyrim soundtrack.
